How To Beat Taotie – Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Boss Guide This guide will include his attack patterns, drops, and more. This simultaneously allows you to deflect any projectiles Bao may throw at you in the meantime. Here is our Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Boss Guide on how to beat Taotie.

If you’re lucky, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei will keep Bao occupied, but if not, just keep your lock-on on Bao and sprint away around the outside of the arena until you find a Warlock and kill them that way. As soon as they appear, prioritize eliminating all of them. These will be passive enemies that buff up Bao, increasing his Morale Rank and therefore his strength. At around 50% health, Bao will summon a number of Demonized Warlocks that sit around the outer perimeter of the arena.

The fact that you have both Guan Yu and Zhang Fei in this fight is also a massive help, as with all three of you charging Bao, you can easily momentarily stunlock Bao in a corner of the arena, all spamming attacks. If he does grab you, he’ll ring his bell and you will be set alight, dealing considerable damage and keeping you in a locked animation for a brief window of time. This can be difficult to time, but you have about a second as he appears and runs towards you arms open before he grabs you.

To avoid this, ensure your lock-on is always on Bao, and if you see him glow red just before teleporting, and he doesn’t instantly appear elsewhere in the arena, he is about to appear in front of you and grab you. Arguably the hardest move to avoid/deflect, Bao’s second Critical Blow involves him teleporting right next to you and going for a grab. Deflect this just before it reaches you to throw it back at Bao, dealing significant damage. One is summoning a ball of red shards above his head, which he then hurls at you. If you’re around Morale Rank 21+, this fight should be considerably easier as Zhang Bao is Rank 18, and will only temporarily be buffed at around the halfway point of the fight.īao has two Critical Blow moves. Zhang Bao will also be a number of Morale Ranks below you, assuming you raised every Battle and Marking Flag throughout the level and defeating most, if not all, enemies. Even if Bao manages to cast a spell before you reach him, almost all of them are slow moving, relatively speaking, and therefore should be easy to run out of the path of, or prepare for a deflection. Though Bao will frequently teleport, your lock-on will remain intact so you can immediately sprint to his next location before he has the chance to conjure any spells. Counterintuitively push through the waves of flame rings, deflecting and continuing to move forward. The key to making this fight considerably easier is keeping pressure on Bao by staying as close as possible, as much as possible. Bao utilizes also exclusively magical attacks, summoning rings of fire, pillars of fire, orbs of fire and red shards, and more, all of which can be enough to stagger you and kill you in just a few seconds. This fight against Zhang Bao is one that can quickly get out of hand.
